Delaware woman purchased a lottery ticket for $20
The woman, who preferred to keep her identity hidden, said she purchased the ticket for $20 at a gas station in Newark, Delaware. The lottery odds were fixed at 1 in 120, 000. After scratching, she realized she had won the first prize. She drove to Delaware lottery headquarters to claim her prize.
On her way home, she decided to buy another 3 Serious Money tickets each costing $30 from Tiger Mart located in Dover, Delaware. The ticket odds were 1 in 150,000, but this didn’t prevent her from winning a $300,000 jackpot which brought her total winnings to $400,000 within one week. She said she could not believe it, but she will save more for retirement.
There have been other double winners in the past
The woman from Delaware is not the first to receive the largest US lottery jackpots. Nevertheless, it is not common to get double lottery winners.
